Most animals have a level of intelligence that is comparable to a 3 year old human's IQ & below, but RED Engineer is a special case. This animal has the cognitive ability to understand the concept of unconventional hate ; to feel complex emotional attachments towards other peers ; to have feelings that most species cannot comprehend, such as guilt & shame.

If you beat him up after building an emotional bond that is strong enough for him to question his decisions, he will ask himself what did go wrong in the relationship & he will wonder where he fucked up. He will eventually feel like everything that happened id entirely his fault & that he isn't worthy of your love, if not anyone's. He will either accept the physical & emotional punishments coming from you or isolate himself, because he will feel unlovable & will not even feel worthy of getting any sort of support because he's a traitor for leaving you & avoiding the consequences. Though, you shouldn't worry if he isolates himself, he will probably come back because his entire perception of himself & his life altered to a point that even reason cannot help his confusion. He cannot live without you anymore & he doesn't want to be a problem for anyone else. You can do anything you want to him, you will stay his very sole reason to live & to die for.
